We target to aggregate the biological data in waters surrounding Taiwan to monitor long-term marine environmental changes and provide a scientific basis for exploring marine ecosystems. Initially, we focused on the trawl survey\nof zooplankton and larval fish, and curated over 130,000 taxonomic abundance records. In recent years, we have continually expanded data topics through proactive contributions from researchers and collaborative projects, incorporating diverse data topics such as benthos surveys, foraminifera studies, and fish eDNA monitoring. We have now accumulated over 160,000 occurrence records. More information about data sources, data types, data access, etc. can be found in page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.odb.ntu.edu.tw\/bio\/en\/database\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Database<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">In addition to enriching and maintaining the database, we are committed to developing a variety of informatics services, converting numerous valuable marine research resources into convenient Web APPs. These services include database-integrated APIs, an interactive map, and an online plankton field guide developed in collaboration with academia. In 2025, we launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/bio.odb.ntu.edu.tw\/viewer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BioViewer<\/a> \u2014 a bioinformatics portal that integrates the above services, enabling users to search, view, and download data through a single platform. Furthermore, a project to develop deep-sea image identification technology has made good progress in recent years (for more information, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.odb.ntu.edu.tw\/bio\/en\/service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Informatics Services<\/a>). We welcome everyone to explore marine life surrounding Taiwan using our Bio-Ocean Database and various informatics services!
